Thomas Muzzonigro, M.D., concentrates on joint reconstruction and performing gender-specific knee replacement surgery.
Dr. "Muzzy" confronts his arch-enemies, knee and hip pain, by using special powers of deception. He is one of the few doctors across America who can trick the brain by using up to six modes of anesthesia.
Because of his ability to reduce joint pain, he leads the Ortho Force in hip and knee replacements. When his joint replacement patients undergo minimally-invasive surgery, they are in and out of the hospital in less time than typically required for a traditional knee replacement.
This Long Island native found his way to Ortho Force by way of Albert Einstein Medical School and UPMC, where he served as clinical instructor.
Dr. Muzzonigro chose Butler because Western Pennsylvania is a great place to raise little ones. His only complaint is that people still believe they need to go to the city to get the latest orthopedic care, a notion that Ortho Force proves wrong.
Dr. Muzzonigro’s biggest challenge is keeping his patients from doing too much too soon after surgery – it’s tough to hold back patients that feel so good.
