Joseph W. Pullekines, M.D., is the go-to guy of Ortho Force when the case load gets heavy.
Outfitted with “the coolest equipment available anywhere,” he still prefers to stay on the leading edge of medicine, not the “bleeding edge” where unproven technology can go wrong.
He prides himself on being a steady and dependable resource for his patients on a daily basis. He’ll opt for a hip replacement with a proven track record any day over a slick, new option that has nothing behind it but promises.
Dr. Pullekines’s solid reputation comes from his roots – he grew up in western Pennsylvania, attending the University of Pittsburgh and completing his residency at UPMC.
He came to Butler because he saw a chance to “hit the ground running,” rather than being just a go-fer at a large urban practice. He was busy from the start, and it’s never let up. He has stayed true to the area by treating players and advising the training staff on the sidelines at Butler High School football games for the past 17 years.
Most of his work involves surgery on hips, knees, ankles and shoulders. He also specializes in carpal tunnel surgery. But, like the other members of Ortho Force, he helps his patients avoid surgery if conditions allow with techniques like steroid injections.
Although Butler Health System’s leading-edge technology has given him “the best resources any surgeon could dream of,” knowledge, skill and compassion are the attributes Dr. Pullekines counts on most to do his job well.
Dr. Pullekines practices at Butler Orthopedic Associates in Butler.
