Rob Waltrip, M.D., traveled the furthest to become a part of the Ortho Force team.
This Texas native earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University, did his residency at UPMC and completed a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama before heading north to Butler.
His specialty, as he puts it, is “cuff stuff” (that’s rotator cuff to the uninformed). He works on more of them than just about anyone else in the region. His minimally-invasive approach can give patients full range of motion in less time than a traditional rotator cuff surgery.
Getting athletes back on the field after an ACL injury is another of Dr. Waltrip’s specialties. He has a soft spot for the quality of Western Pennsylvania football, which he claims is almost as intense as it is in Texas.
He thinks people should know that Ortho Force is providing orthopedic care that is equal, and often superior, to what is available at urban medical centers.
In fact, Dr. Waltrip’s superior care has been widely recognized – he was recently named a top doctor in the Pittsburgh region and the country for the fourth consecutive year by Pittsburgh Magazine and America’s Top Doctors guide published annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.
Dr. Waltrip practices at Tri Rivers Surgical Associates in Butler, Cranberry/Mars and North Hills.
