Arthroscopic Surgery
Arthroscopy ("scope") surgery is an outpatient surgical procedure performed to diagnose and treat joint injuries or problems by repairing or reconstructing injured joint structures. A camera and narrow instruments, about the size of a pencil, are inserted into the joint through small incisions. Small incisions allow for a shorter rehabilitation and recovery period. With the camera, an Ortho Force surgeon can see the inside of the joint on a television screen to perform the surgical procedure or repair.
Arthroscopic surgery is commonly used for surgery on knees, shoulders, elbows, wrists and ankles. This minimally-invasive technique allows for a more rapid recovery with less pain and less time away from an active life.
